As our Engineers have been using the Artec Eva 3D scanner for years, we would like to give an Artec Eva review.
For the most versatile handheld scanner, the engineers at Digital Scan 3D (DS3D) recommend the Artec Eva. This scanner is ideal for scanning medium to large size objects with moderate accuracy and is able to capture the object in full color and texture.
The Eva was the first and only 3D scanner to scan the President of the United States, which allowed the first presidential bust to be completed with 3D printing. This was a testament to the Eva’s ability to scan the human body and maintains our endorsement that this 3D scanner is the best fit for developing prosthetics, orthopedics, and aiding in plastic surgery.
However, we don’t want to limit the Eva to only the medical field. It’s an optimal scanner for the automotive industry, gaming industry, and art industry as well.
The Eva uses a white light flash bulb and has a video frame rate up to 16fps (frames per second). Additionally, it has a 3D resolution of 0.5mm and works well at a distance of 0.4 – 1 meter away from the scanning target.
Digital Scan 3D (DS3D) has used the Artec Eva extensively and considers it to be the most capable scanner in our arsenal due to its applicability to almost any project. However, we always want to recommend the right scanner based on the requirements of your project. If the Eva doesn’t seem like the right 3D scanner for your venture, take a look at the more accurate Artec Spider.
We hope this Artec Eva review was helpful. We’d love to hear your thoughts on 3D scanners and your experience with the Artec Eva. Please share in the comments section below.
